A+Technical Description
The Tsugami TMB2 is a versatile 6-axis multitasking turning center that combines advanced turning and milling capabilities in a single setup. This horizontal machining center features a maximum turning diameter of 2 inches with a 30-inch turning length and accommodates 2-inch bar stock. The machine is equipped with dual main spindles and a sub-spindle, each capable of 6,000 RPM with 15 HP output, enabling simultaneous multi-axis operations. A dedicated rotary tool spindle with 10,000 RPM and 7.5 HP provides powerful milling capability comparable to dedicated machining centers. The primary tool carrier utilizes an automatic tool changer (ATC) supporting up to 30 tools, while the secondary 16-station turret accommodates an additional 30 tools, allowing two simultaneous cutting tools during operation. The machine's 6-axis control system provides X, Y, and Z linear axes with 945 ipm rapid traverse rates across all three dimensions, complemented by rotary B-axis indexing for complex angle work. Standard capabilities include on-center and off-center milling, drilling, tapping, C-axis control for compound angles, and Y-axis control for advanced positioning. This configuration enables comprehensive part production—including turning, boring, threading, milling, drilling, and tapping—in a single setup, significantly reducing changeover and setup times while maintaining high precision and productivity.
