Technical Description

The Vantage CN55V30 is a heavy-duty CNC oil-country/flat-bed lathe built around a large 30 in. spindle bore with an A2-20 spindle nose and 1/20 spindle taper on a 4-step gear transmission. The AC spindle motor is rated 37.5/45 kW (50/60 hp), with 4.5 kW (6 hp) servo motors on both the X and Z axes. Rapid traverse is 8 m/min on X and 10 m/min on Z. The standard tool post is a Poligon Disc or VDI Disc turret with 12 tool stations, sized for 32 x 32 mm (1.25 x 1.25 in.) square-shank tooling, plus a cross-sliding rear turret capable of handling boring bars up to 6 in. The tailstock has a 235 mm (9.25 in.) quill diameter, 200 mm (7.87 in.) of spindle traverse, and an MT#6 taper. The control is a FANUC 18T. The CN-55 platform is part of Vantage Precision Machine Tool's heavy-duty lathe line built for large-diameter oil-country tubular and pipe work.
