Technical Description

This CNC lathe features a maximum swing of 70.39 inches and a machining length capacity of 200 inches, making it suitable for large workpieces and extended machining operations. It is equipped with the Fanuc 20-TA CNC control system, which provides robust and highly reliable 2-axis (X and Z) digital readout with a 9-inch monochrome monitor and a 44-key keypad interface. The control supports advanced programming capabilities, including custom Macro B G-code programming, conversational graphics programming, and simultaneous absolute and incremental programming with inch and metric unit compatibility. The Fanuc 20-TA control offers six modes of CNC operation such as memory, editing, manual data input (MDI), manual handwheel, and machine guidance, plus auxiliary functions including dry run, single block execution, and block skip for precise program debugging and operation control. Manual interruption for spindle and handwheel is supported, and constant surface speed control ensures optimal cutting conditions. Machine functions such as coolant and light control are fully programmable via M-codes. Additional features include backlash and ballscrew pitch error compensation from laser calibration data, support for 16 tool geometry and wear offsets with radius compensation, and three coordinate systems (machine, absolute, relative) for flexible setup. The system supports program storage with up to 63 part programs and 40 meters of tape length. A built-in RS-232 port provides seamless data loading and unloading. Self-diagnostics with on-screen error messages enhance maintenance and troubleshooting efficiency.
