A+Technical Description
The Victor S22120S is a precision heavy-duty manual engine lathe engineered for turning large, demanding workpieces with exceptional accuracy and efficiency. Built with a robust Meehanite casting bed and hardened, ground bed ways, this machine delivers the rigidity required for heavy-duty production work. The lathe features a large 4-1/8" spindle bore with a D1-11 spindle nose, accommodating substantial workholding and tooling options. Equipped with a powerful 15 HP three-phase main motor, the S22120S delivers consistent torque across its 12-step spindle speed range of 15 to 1,200 RPM, enabling versatile machining capabilities for various materials and operations. The precision-ground chromium molybdenum steel gears in the headstock ensure reliable power transmission and extended service life. The machine incorporates universal inch/metric gearbox capabilities, supporting thread cutting from 2 to 112 TPI in inch measurements and 0.2 to 14mm in metric, with 60 kinds of each. Longitudinal feeds range from 0.0014" to 0.0387" per revolution, while cross feeds span 0.0007" to 0.01935" per revolution, providing fine control for precision work. The Turcite B coated slideways between saddle and bed reduce friction and wear, ensuring smooth, accurate carriage movement over extended service intervals. With 120 inches between centers and 21.97 inches swing diameter, the lathe accommodates substantial workpieces. The induction-hardened, precision-ground cross slide (HRC 52°) provides 15 inches of travel, while the compound slide offers 10 inches, enabling complex turning and facing operations with superior repeatability and finish quality.
