Technical Description

The Victor Taichung Vturn-46/165 is a 2-axis CNC slant-bed lathe from Victor Taichung Machinery Works (Taichung, Taiwan), built on a genuine 60-degree slant bed with hardened box slideways (HRC 55) to minimize the distance from the Z-axis ballscrew to the tool tip. A built-in 4-step gearbox raises low-speed torque to 536.4 kg-m at 67 rpm across four speed ranges spanning 67-1,500 rpm. Maximum turning length is 1,650 mm. The spindle carries an A2-11 nose with a standard 15-inch hydraulic chuck (18/21/24-inch optional), driven by a FANUC alpha-30i motor rated 30 kW continuous / 37 kW 30-minute. The standard turret holds 10 stations (12 with the optional C-axis/live-tooling CV package), tool shank 32 mm, max boring bar diameter 60 mm (VDI-50), with 6 live-tool positions on the CV option driven at up to 3,000 rpm by a 7.0 kW milling motor. The tailstock uses a live MT#5 quill with 150 mm stroke. Standard equipment includes a programmable tailstock, chip conveyor, and automatic forced lubrication; the control is a FANUC 0i-T. Machine footprint is approximately 6.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 m and net weight is about 12,800 kg.
