A+Technical Description
The WILLIS KMV-10 is a precision CNC vertical machining center engineered for demanding industrial applications. This machine delivers exceptional rigidity and accuracy through high-quality annealed and stress-relieved castings, oversized hardened and ground box ways on all axes, and pre-loaded, pre-tensioned high-precision ball screws that minimize temperature variation and improve machining accuracy. The spindle operates at 7,500 RPM with a powerful 15 HP motor coupled to a German-built 2-speed ZF gearbox, providing outstanding power and torque throughout the entire speed range. With CAT-40 taper compatibility, the machine accommodates a 24-tool automatic tool changer with tool capacities of 3.5" diameter by 11.8" length and maximum tool weight of 13.2 lbs. The work envelope provides 40" X-axis, 20" Y-axis, and 25" Z-axis travel, supported by a substantial 48" x 20" worktable rated for maximum loads of 1,760 lbs. Equipped with high-grade turcite on all axes for superior wear resistance and minimal stick-slip, the machine maintains exceptional dimensional stability. The massive cast iron base ensures a strong, solid foundation with full support over the entire travel range and excellent vibration dampening. Featuring a FANUC 0i controller with rapid traverse capability of 80 ft/min and cutting feedrates from 0.04 to 394 in/min, the KMV-10 delivers precision positioning and repeatability. Overall machine dimensions of 113" x 100" x 117" H with a net weight of 13,200 lbs provide substantial production capacity for component manufacturing.
