The ACRA 1500C Manual Lathe is a precision engine lathe designed for versatile machining with robust specifications. It features a 15-inch swing over the bed and 9.375 inches swing over the cross slide, accommodating workpieces up to 50 inches between centers. The spindle bore measures 2.1875 inches, providing a substantial opening for larger tooling or bar stock. Powered by a 7.5 HP motor, the lathe achieves speeds up to 2,000 RPM across 16 spindle speed settings, allowing for a wide range of machining operations from rough turning to fine finishing. The machine utilizes a precision gap bed design enhancing swing capacity and versatility, and is equipped with a D1-6 spindle nose and an MT No. 5 spindle taper. The lathe incorporates a fully enclosed universal inch/metric gearbox requiring no change gears, with all gears and shafts hardened and precision ground for durability and accuracy. It comes standard with accessories such as 8" and 10" chucks, steady/follow rests, coolant system with full-length splash guards, halogen lighting, and a 4-way tool holder. Construction includes induction hardened and precision ground Meehanite bed ways with Turcite "B" bearing surfaces. The tailstock features a taper MT No. 4 with a 2.3125-inch diameter quill and 5 inches of travel. Additional features include a forward-reversing clutch, adjustable apron clutch, and rapid indexing tool block, facilitating smooth, reliable, and precise manual turning operations for professional and industrial applications.
