Technical Description

The ALZMETALL AX 2-T/S is a robust upright drill press designed for precise bench or table drilling applications. It features a 9.84-inch swing and a throat depth of 9.84 inches (250 mm), enabling work on medium-sized workpieces. It has variable spindle speeds ranging from 225 to 4,300 RPM via a 2 × 8 step belt-driven system combined with an infinitely variable mechanical variator, ensuring optimal speed and torque for various materials. The machine’s 1.34 HP (0.55 kW) motor provides sufficient power for drilling through mild steel (up to 0.91 inches), cast iron (up to 0.91 inches), and steel E335/St 60 (up to 0.55 inches), with tapping capacities reaching M10 for steel and M14 for cast iron. Its 3.94-inch (100 mm) bore stroke allows deep drilling, supported by a MK 2 spindle taper and a quick-action Röhm chuck accommodating 3–16 mm drill bits for rapid bit changes. The sizable work table (9.84 × 9.84 inches) rotates 360° and offers vertical adjustment of up to 12.8 inches, providing versatile positioning for complex tasks. The solid 3.54-inch diameter column and a stable base (12.6 × 9.84 inches) support accuracy and vibration reduction during operation.
