Technical Description
The ATUL LATHE AGL-1500 is a robust manual all-geared center lathe designed for precision turning and heavy-duty machining applications. Featuring a center height of 17.78 inches (452 mm) over flat bed ways, it provides a maximum swing over the bed of 17.78 inches and a swing over the cross slide of 10 inches (254 mm), allowing for versatile workpiece handling. The distance between centers is 60.94 inches (1548 mm), accommodating long shafts and large components. The lathe is powered by a 2.95 HP (2.2 kW) electric motor, delivering reliable performance for a wide range of materials. The spindle bore measures 2.04 inches (52 mm), supporting the passage of bar stock and enabling internal machining operations. The spindle speed is set at 40 RPM, optimized for high-torque applications and smooth cutting action. The machine is equipped with a Norton gear box and a six-feed gear box, ensuring precise control over threading and feed rates. Standard accessories include a set of change gears, V-belts, center adaptor, dead centers, chuck plate, electricals, tool post key, carriage tray, oil can, plastic can, screwdriver, spanners, and a spare parts book. Optional accessories such as a taper turning attachment, steady rest, follow rest, revolving center, coolant pump with tank, and machine lamp enhance its functionality. The bed is constructed from high-grade cast iron, hardened and inspected for accuracy, while the headstock spindle is induction hardened and ground for durability. The apron features a totally enclosed oil bath system with lever-type automatic feeds, ensuring smooth operation and reduced maintenance. The ATUL LATHE AGL-1500 is built to meet Indian Standard IS-1878 (Part-I) and is available in emerald green or blue and white color options.
