Technical Description

The Bridgeport EZ-Path S is a flat-bed CNC teach lathe built by Romi in Brazil for Bridgeport, and it runs the Bridgeport EZ-Path CNC control. The control offers manual and teach operation, with dual electronic handwheels for jogging the axes, and cuts inch and metric threads. The machine has 40 in between centers and 8 in swing over the cross slide. The geared headstock has an A2-5 spindle nose and a 2.08 in spindle bore, and gives 25 to 4,000 rpm in two ranges from a 7.5 hp spindle drive. Cross travel (X) is 8.6 in and longitudinal travel (Z) is 40 in, with rapid traverse of 295 ipm on X and 394 ipm on Z. The manual tailstock has an MT4 quill taper and 4.7 in of quill travel. Standard equipment includes central automatic lubrication and a coolant system with chip pan. Machines were supplied with either a bolt-on 8-station turret or a quick-change tool post, and run on 240 V three-phase power.
