Technical Description

The 2018 Brother Speedio M140X2 is a 5-axis compact multi-tasking machining center purpose-built for complex small-part manufacturing in a minimal footprint. Combining milling and turning capabilities within a single setup, it is ideally suited for precision components requiring multi-face and contoured machining in industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and electronics. The machine features a D140 mm (5.5-inch) diameter indexing turning table with a C-axis capable of continuous 360-degree rotation and an A-axis with a tilt range of -30 to +120 degrees, enabling full 5-axis simultaneous machining. The milling spindle utilizes a BT30 taper and operates at a standard maximum speed of 10,000 RPM with a continuous (S1) power rating of 6.7 kW (approximately 9.0 HP); a 16,000 RPM spindle option is available for higher-speed cutting applications. Linear axis travels are 200 mm (7.9 inches) in X, 440 mm (17.3 inches) in Y, and 305 mm (12.0 inches) in Z. The turning spindle provides a maximum speed of 2,000 RPM, enabling live-tool turning operations without re-chucking.
