CHARMILLES ROBOFIL 440CC WIRE EDM MACHINE

The Charmilles Robofil 440CC is a precision 5-axis submerged wire EDM machine designed for complex and accurate machining of workpieces up to 1200 x 700 x 400 mm and weighing up to 1500 kg. It features X, Y, and Z travels of 550 x 350 x 400 mm, with additional U and V axes of 550 x 350 mm, enabling taper cutting up to ±30 degrees. The machine employs a Charmilles Millennium CNC control system, providing precise path control and advanced programming capabilities. It is equipped with a Clear-Cut ("CC") generator and transformer, ensuring a stable, high-quality electrical discharge process. Automatic wire threading supports wires from 0.1 to 0.3 mm diameter, facilitating continuous operation without manual intervention. The system uses glass scales for X and Y axes with a resolution of 0.5 microns, enabling micron-level accuracy. Wire speed and tension are programmable, allowing adjustments for different materials and cutting requirements. The process is fully submerged in dielectric fluid, enhancing cutting stability and surface finish.
