Technical Description

The 1992 Cincinnati Sabre 1000 is a 3-axis CNC vertical machining center manufactured by Cincinnati Milacron of Cincinnati, Ohio. The CAT-40 spindle delivers 15 to 20 HP at a maximum speed of 5000 RPM, providing strong cutting performance for production machining of medium-format workpieces in steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The work table measures 44 x 20 inches with a 1,500 lb load capacity, and axis travels extend 40 inches in X, 20 inches in Y, and 22 inches in Z. A 21-tool ATC enables efficient multi-operation production cycles. Control is provided by the Acramatic 850SX CNC system. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 217 x 110 x 110 inches and the machine weighs approximately 12,000 to 13,200 lbs. The Sabre 1000 shares the same physical work envelope as the Arrow 1000 but preceded it in Cincinnati's lineup and is a heavier machine with similar capabilities. The Sabre series is well-regarded for its robust column design and long service life. The 1990 and 1992 vintages carry the Acramatic 850SX control, while 1994 and later units transitioned to the Acramatic 2100. Parts and service availability remain reasonable through the former Cincinnati Machine network.
