The Clausing 15” Colchester Manual Lathe is a robust, precision-engineered machine designed for versatile metalworking tasks. It features a substantial footprint measuring 104" L x 53" W x 66" H and weighs 3,500 lbs, ensuring stability during operation. The lathe offers a 15-1/4" swing over the bed and a 23" swing in the gap, with 50" distance between centers, allowing accommodation of sizable workpieces. The spindle bore of 2-3/16" and a bar capacity of 2-1/8" support a range of material sizes, with a D-16 Camlock spindle nose. Spindle speeds vary from 25 to 2,000 RPM, controlled via fully geared headstock, facilitating precision work across a broad speed range. The machine is equipped with induction-hardened, precision-ground bedways for durability and minimal wear. Longitudinal feed ranges from .0015 to .040 IPR, and cross feed from .00075 to .020 IPR, supporting fine control for intricate machining. Threading capability includes inch pitches from 2 to 56 TPI and metric pitches from 0.2 to 14 mm, enhanced by a threading dial for accurate thread cutting.
