The Clausing Metosa C1440 is a manual engine lathe with a 14.17-inch swing over the bed and 20-inch swing in the removable gap, offering a center distance of 40 inches for accommodating longer workpieces. The machine features a 1.625-inch spindle bore and is powered by a 4.5 HP motor, delivering spindle speeds up to 2,000 RPM through a 9-speed, fully geared heavy-duty headstock. The spindle utilizes a D1-5 Camlock taper with a #4 Morse taper in the spindle bore.
