Technical Description

The DMG MORI ecoTurn 450 is a 2-axis slant-bed CNC turning center from the ECOLINE ecoTurn series, which also includes the ecoTurn 310, 510 and 650. It offers a maximum swing of 650 mm and a maximum turning diameter of 400 mm (15.75 in), with 600 mm of longitudinal Z-axis travel. The main spindle reaches 4,000 rpm, accelerating from 0 to 4,000 rpm in 9.5 seconds, and is driven by a 17.5 kW motor at 40% duty cycle (12.5 kW at 100% duty), producing up to 370 Nm of torque at 40% duty (264 Nm continuous). Bar capacity is 65 mm as standard and 75 mm as an option. Optional chucks are 250 mm or 315 mm in diameter. The turret has 12 stations, all of which can take driven tools, with a VDI 40 or BT tool interface. A tailstock is standard across the series. The machine occupies a compact footprint of 4.9 square meters and weighs about 5,200 kg without a chip conveyor, or 5,800 kg with one. Control choices are SIEMENS 840D solutionline or HEIDENHAIN CNC PILOT 640 on the SLIMline panel, or MAPPS IV with MITSUBISHI.
