Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NL3000/1250 is the largest model of the NL Series of horizontal slant-bed CNC turning centers, here in the 1250 mm distance-between-centers type and the basic 2-axis turning form with one spindle, a 10-station turret and a tailstock. Swing over bed is 995 mm (39.2 in), swing over cross slide is 825 mm (32.5 in), maximum turning diameter is 430 mm (16.9 in) and maximum turning length is 1,260 mm (49.6 in). The JIS A2-8 spindle has a 105 mm (4.1 in) through-hole, 90 mm (3.5 in) bar capacity and 160 mm front bearings, takes a 12-inch chuck and runs to 3,000 rpm on a 22/18.5 kW (30/24.7 HP) motor rated 30 min/continuous, with a 30/25 kW high-output option. The turret takes a 12-station head as an option, holds 25 mm square shanks and 50 mm boring bars, and indexes in 0.3 s. X- and Z-axis travels are 280 mm and 1,370 mm, with 30 m/min rapid traverse. The tailstock travels 1,284 mm, has a 110 mm quill and takes an MT5 live center. The machine stands 2,390 mm (94.1 in) high on a 4,532 x 2,291 mm floor space and weighs 7,600 kg (16,720 lb). MC and Y versions were built on the same bed.
