Technical Description

The DMG MORI NLX 2500MC|700 is a slant-bed CNC turning center from the first-generation NLX series, in its milling specification with one spindle, a BMT (Built-in Motor Turret) with rotary tools and a tailstock, on the 700 mm distance-between-centers bed. Swing over bed is 920 mm (36.2 in), swing over cross slide is 742 mm (29.2 in), maximum turning diameter is 366 mm (14.4 in) with a 10- or 12-station turret and maximum turning length is 705 mm (27.7 in). The JIS A2-8 spindle takes a 10-inch chuck, has 80 mm (3.1 in) bar capacity and runs to 4,000 rpm on an 18.5/18.5/15 kW (24.7/24.7/20 HP) motor rated 25%ED/50%ED/continuous, with a 26 kW high-output option. Rotary tools reach 10,000 rpm on a 5.5 kW (7.5 HP) motor, and 10-, 12-, 16- and 20-station turrets are offered. X- and Z-axis travels are 260 mm and 795 mm, with 30 m/min rapid traverse. The tailstock travels 734 mm and takes an MT5 live center. The October 2018 catalog gives a machine height of 2,200 mm (86.6 in), a 3,347 x 2,106 mm floor space and a mass of 5,820 kg (12,804 lb).
