Technical Description
The DMG MORI NZX1500/800ST is a three-turret, twin-spindle CNC turning center from the NZX1500/NZX2000 series, built for complete front and back machining of bar and chuck work in a single cycle. Its three 16-station turrets give 48 tool stations in total, and all Y-axes on the series are orthogonal to the spindle centerline. Maximum turning diameter is 320 mm (12.5 in), standard turning diameter is 200 mm (7.9 in) and maximum turning length is 810 mm (31.8 in) on the /800 bed. Spindle 1 and spindle 2 are identical, each running to 6,000 rpm with a 61 mm (2.4 in) through-spindle hole, a 6-inch chuck and a 22/18.5 kW (30/24.7 HP) drive motor. The ST version adds a third turret (turret 3) with no Y-axis; bar capacity is 52 mm (2.0 in). Floor space is 3,930 x 2,740 mm (machine plus coolant tank, excluding chip conveyor) and machine height is 2,320 mm without the automatic door. The machine weighs 8,900 kg. Programming and operation use the MAPPS IV operating system with 3D interference checking.
