Technical Description
The Doosan Lynx 2100LYA is a compact slant-bed horizontal turning center with a 6-inch chuck, live tooling, C-axis and a programmable Y-axis. It is the 6-inch version of the Lynx 2100LY series; the LYB uses an 8-inch chuck and the LSY versions add a sub-spindle. The main spindle turns up to 6,000 rpm and is driven by a 15 kW (20 hp) motor rated 11 kW (15 hp) continuous, giving 127 N·m of torque. The spindle through-hole is 61 mm (2.4 in) and bar capacity is 51 mm (2.0 in). Maximum turning diameter is 300 mm (11.8 in) and maximum turning length is 510 mm (20.1 in). Axis travels are 205 mm on X, 560 mm on Z and 105 mm (plus or minus 52.5 mm) on Y. The servo-driven turret has 12 stations with 24-position indexing, and a 16-station turret is optional. Rotary tools run up to 6,000 rpm. A tailstock with an MT#4 quill and 560 mm of travel is standard on the single-spindle LYA. The control is Doosan Fanuc i series, with Siemens 840D offered as an alternative. The machine occupies 2,850 x 1,710 mm of floor space and stands 1,920 mm tall.
