Technical Description

The Doosan Lynx 220LC is a two-axis CNC turning center from Doosan's Lynx 220 series. The 'C' version carries an 8 in chuck on an A2-6 spindle nose with a 76 mm (3.0 in) through-hole and 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity, and the 'L' version adds the long bed with a standard tailstock. Swing is 510 mm (20.1 in) over the bed and 290 mm (11.4 in) over the saddle. Maximum turning diameter is 320 mm (12.6 in) and maximum turning length is 525 mm (20.7 in). The spindle turns up to 4,000 rpm on a 15 kW (30-minute) / 11 kW continuous motor. Tooling is a 12-station servo turret with a 210 mm curvic coupling, hydraulic clamping and 0.11-second station-to-station indexing; it takes 25 mm square OD tools and 40 mm boring bars. Travel is 175 mm on X and 550 mm on Z, with rapid traverse of 30 m/min on X and 36 m/min on Z. The tailstock has a 65 mm quill with an MT4 taper and 80 mm of quill travel. The machine uses the Doosan-Fanuc i series control with a 10.4 in color LCD. It is 2,560 mm long, 1,600 mm wide and 1,655 mm high, and weighs 3,100 kg (6,834 lb). Power supply is 23.7 kVA.
