Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA 2100Y II is a compact slant-bed CNC turning center with Y-axis milling, from the second generation of the PUMA 2100/2600/3100 series built by DN Solutions (formerly Doosan Machine Tools). It is a single-spindle machine with no sub-spindle; the LSY versions add the second spindle and long bed. The main spindle takes an 8-inch chuck and runs up to 5,000 rpm with a 22 kW (29.5 hp) motor and 358 N·m (264 ft-lb) of torque. Maximum turning diameter is 406 mm (16 in) and maximum turning length is 520 mm (20.5 in). Axis travels are 260 mm in X, 105 mm in Y and 590 mm in Z, with 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) rapid traverse in X and Z. The turret holds 12 tools, and rotary tools run up to 5,000 rpm for milling, drilling and tapping off center with the Y axis. The machine footprint is 3,190 mm long by 1,945 mm wide, it stands 2,163 mm tall, and it weighs 5,550 kg (12,236 lb). Typical work includes shafts, flanges and small to medium parts that need turning and secondary milling in one setup.
