Technical Description
The Doosan (Daewoo) Puma 240LC is a long-bed horizontal CNC turning center in the Puma 240 family, built for shafts and chucked parts requiring extended length capacity compared with the standard 240B/240C models in the same series. Maximum turning diameter is approximately 16.5 in (421.6 mm) and maximum turning length is 25.5 in (647.7 mm). X-axis travel is 9.5 in (241.3 mm) and Z-axis travel is approximately 26.8 in (680.7 mm). The main spindle is driven by a 25 hp (18.6 kW) motor. Tooling is handled through a 12-station turret, and the machine is equipped with a Fanuc 21i-TB control. Overall machine weight is approximately 10,000-10,200 lbs. As with other members of the Puma 240 family, the 240LC carries a single main spindle; live tooling, a sub-spindle and a tailstock are configuration-dependent options rather than standard equipment, and used-machine listings show both tailstock-equipped and non-tailstock examples in the field.
