Technical Description

The Doosan PUMA 2600L is a long-bed, two-axis horizontal CNC turning center from the PUMA 2100/2600/3100 series, built for medium-diameter shaft and chucker work. It swings 30.7 in over the bed and 24.8 in over the saddle, with a maximum turning diameter of 18.9 in and a maximum turning length of 51.6 in. Bar capacity is 3.0 in through an 86 mm (3.4 in) spindle bore. The belt-driven main spindle has an A2-8 nose on 140 mm front bearings, carries a 10 in chuck as standard and runs to 3,500 rpm from a 22 kW (30 hp) motor rated 18.5 kW continuous. Travels are 10.2 in in X and 53.1 in in Z, with 1,181 ipm rapid traverse on both axes. A 12-station servo-driven turret takes 1 in OD tools and 2 in boring bars and indexes in 0.15 s. The tailstock has a 100 mm quill with an MT5 live-center taper. The machine measures about 170.7 in long, 77.4 in wide and 74.8 in high, and weighs 6,700 kg (14,771 lb). The L model shares its spindle and turret with the standard PUMA 2600 but adds Z travel for longer parts.
