Technical Description

The Doosan PUMA 2600LSY is a slant-bed CNC turning center from the PUMA 2100/2600/3100 series in the long-bed (L) version with a sub spindle (S) and Y-axis milling (Y). The main spindle has an A2-8 nose, 140 mm front bearings and an 86 mm (3.4 in) through-hole with 76 mm (3.0 in) bar capacity; it is belt driven to 3,500 rpm by a 22 kW (29.5 hp) motor, 18.5 kW continuous, and indexes in 0.001-degree C-axis steps. A 10-inch main chuck is standard. The sub spindle has an A2-5 nose, a 62 mm through-hole, a 6-inch chuck and runs to 4,500 rpm on a 7.5 kW motor. Swing over the bed is 780 mm (30.7 in); maximum turning diameter is 376 mm (14.8 in) and maximum turning length is 1,280 mm (50.4 in). Travels are 260 mm in X, 1,350 mm in Z and 105 mm (plus or minus 52.5 mm) in Y, with 30 m/min rapids in X and Z. The 12-station BMT65P turret takes driven tools up to 5,000 rpm on a 5.5 kW motor, with 24- and 16-station options. The control is a Fanuc 31i. The machine is 4,435 mm long, 1,965 mm wide and 2,163 mm high and weighs about 7,750 kg (17,086 lb).
