Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA 2600M is a 10-inch class CNC turning center with live tooling, part of the PUMA 2100/2600/3100 series that covers 8 to 12-inch chuck sizes. It has a slant bed with box guideways, a 780 mm (30.7 in) swing over bed, 376 mm (14.8 in) maximum turning diameter and 760 mm (29.9 in) maximum turning length on the standard bed; the PUMA 2600LM is the long-bed version. The belt-driven main spindle has an ASA A2-8 nose, a 140 mm front bearing, an 86 mm (3.39 in) through-hole and 76 mm bar capacity, and runs to 3,500 rpm with a 22 kW (29.5 hp) 30-minute rating and 18.5 kW continuous. The C-axis indexes in 0.001-degree steps. The 12-station BMT65P turret (24 stations optional) carries rotary tools up to 5,000 rpm driven by a 5.5 kW motor. X-axis travel is 260 mm and Z-axis travel is 830 mm, with 30 m/min rapids on both axes. The standard machine is 3,600 mm long, 1,863 mm wide and 1,900 mm high, and weighs 5,550 kg. Earlier machines use Fanuc i-series controls such as the 21i; later machines use the DOOSAN Fanuc i Plus control with a 15-inch screen.
