Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA 700LM is a heavy-duty CNC turning center from the PUMA 700 series, combining the long L bed with a live-tool (M) turret and C-axis for milling and drilling. It is designed for large, heavy workpieces such as oilfield components, rolls, shafts and large flanges. The spindle carries a 24-inch chuck and runs to 1,500 rpm, driven by a 45 kW (60 hp) motor that produces 6,605 Nm (4,873 ft-lb) of torque. The spindle through-hole is 166.5 mm (6.56 inches). Maximum turning diameter is 35.4 inches and maximum turning length on the L bed is 126 inches, with X and Z travels of 18.5 and 127.4 inches. The 12-station BMT-85 turret accepts 80 mm boring bars, and its rotary tools run to 3,000 rpm with 11 kW (15 hp) and 140 Nm of torque. Rapid traverse rates are 472 in/min on X and 394 in/min on Z. The machine measures 289.76 inches long, 108.9 inches wide and 101.97 inches high and weighs 48,060 lb. These figures describe the first-generation PUMA 700LM; the series was later updated as the PUMA 700 II with a 55 kW spindle and revised dimensions.
