Technical Description

The Doosan PUMA 800 is a heavy-duty 2-axis horizontal CNC turning center from the PUMA 600/700/800 series, built for large-diameter shaft and flange work. It uses a 32-inch chuck on an A1-20 spindle nose with a 320 mm (12.6 in) spindle bore and 400 mm front bearing. The main spindle turns up to 750 rpm, driven by a 45 kW (60 hp) 30-minute / 37 kW (50 hp) continuous motor, producing 6,605 N·m of torque; a 75 kW high-torque motor is optional. Swing over bed is 1,030 mm (40.6 in) and over the saddle 800 mm (31.5 in). Maximum turning diameter is 900 mm (35.4 in) and maximum turning length is 1,600 mm (63 in) on the standard bed; L and XL versions extend this to 3,200 and 5,050 mm. The 12-station turret takes 32 mm square shanks and 80 mm boring bars with 0.25 s indexing. X-axis travel is 470 mm and Z-axis 1,650 mm, with 12 and 16 m/min rapids. The tailstock has a 160 mm quill with MT6 taper. Control is Fanuc 32i. The standard machine measures 5,760 x 3,145 x 2,780 mm and weighs 16,300 kg.
