Technical Description

The Doosan (now DN Solutions) PUMA GT2100M is a horizontal CNC turning center with a C axis and live tooling, from the PUMA GT series. It carries an 8 in chuck (10 in optional) on an A2-6 spindle nose with a 76 mm (3.0 in) through-hole and 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity. Swing is 600 mm (23.6 in) over the bed and 390 mm (15.4 in) over the saddle. Maximum turning diameter is 300 mm (11.8 in) and maximum turning length is 513 mm (20.2 in). The spindle turns up to 4,500 rpm on an 18.5 kW (15-minute) / 15 kW continuous motor and produces 313 N-m (231 ft-lb) of torque, and indexes in 0.001 degree steps as a C axis. The 12-station turret takes 25 mm square OD tools and 40 mm boring bars, indexes in 0.15 seconds and drives rotary tools to 5,000 rpm on a 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) motor. Travel is 230 mm on X and 580 mm on Z, with rapid traverse of 24 m/min on X and 30 m/min on Z. The tailstock has an 80 mm quill with MT4 taper. The latest brochure lists the DOOSAN Fanuc i Plus control, with Siemens 828D offered. The machine is 2,940 mm long, 1,632 mm wide and 1,700 mm high, and weighs 3,800 kg (8,377 lb). Power supply is 30.43 kVA.
