Technical Description

The EMAG VSC 250 DUO is a vertical multi-spindle turning machine engineered for medium to large batch production of chucked components. This CNC-controlled system features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 7.900 inches and a chuck diameter of 7.900 inches, capable of swinging workpieces up to 10.200 inches. Operating at 6,000 RPM with 51 horsepower, the machine delivers robust machining performance for both soft and hard operations. The machine accommodates 12 turning tools and 12 rotary tools via a disc-type turret configuration, with one simultaneous cutting tool operating at any given time. With its 2-axis design, the VSC 250 DUO provides X-axis travel of 33.5 inches and Z-axis travel of 7.900 inches, achieving rapid traverse rates of 1,772 IPM and maximum feed rates of 2,473 IPM. The dual-spindle DUO design features two independent machining areas with separately programmable overhead slides and turrets, allowing simultaneous machining of identical or different components in operations OP10 and OP20. This configuration significantly reduces idle times through short travel distances and minimal setup adjustments. The machine integrates advanced CNC technology with SIEMENS or FANUC control options, ensuring precision and repeatability. Rotary tool capabilities add drilling and milling functionality, enhancing production versatility.
