Technical Description

The EMCO Maxxturn 45 is a compact CNC turning center built in Austria for complete machining of bar stock and chuck work. Its main spindle has an A2-5 spindle nose, a 53 mm (2.1 in) spindle bore and 45 mm (1.8 in) bar capacity, with 51 mm (2 in) optional. The main spindle runs to 6,300 rpm with a 13 kW (17.4 hp) drive and 78 Nm of torque (100 Nm optional). Swing over the bed is 430 mm (16.9 in), maximum turning diameter is 300 mm (11.8 in) and maximum part length is 480 mm (18.9 in). X and Z travels are 160 mm and 510 mm, and the Y axis travels +40 / -30 mm. Rapid traverse is 24 / 10 / 30 m/min in X / Y / Z, and all linear axes run on preloaded roller guides. A 12-station VDI 25 turret accepts driven tools at every station, with driven tools rated to 6,000 rpm and 4 kW. Versions include MY (tailstock, Y and C axes, driven tools), S (counter spindle), SM (counter spindle with two C axes and driven tools) and SMY (adds the Y axis). The machine was offered with Siemens or Fanuc control. Footprint without chip conveyor is 2,575 x 1,790 mm and total weight is 4,000 kg.
