This is a FARREL DOUBLE COLUMN VERTICAL BORING MILL, a robust machine with a 192-inch table diameter and a maximum swing of 202 inches. It accommodates large workpieces with a maximum height under the rail of 110 inches and a maximum height under the tool of 103 inches. The mill features two vertical rams, each having a 96-inch stroke and a cross section of 9.5 inches by 10 inches. Power is supplied by a 100 HP main motor, supporting a table weight capacity of 125 tons and providing adjustable table speeds ranging from 0.5 to 35 RPM. The feed rate is variable from 0.04 to 394 inches per minute, with a finer feed rate per rotation from 0.00001 inches to 19.7 inches, and a rapid traverse rate of 157.5 inches per minute. Operation is managed by a CNC control system, specifically the GE Fanuc O-M CNC Control. This particular unit was rebuilt in 2010.
