Technical Description

The FEMCO HL-55S/2500 is the longest-bed variant of the HL-55S series, a two-axis CNC heavy-duty slant-bed chucking lathe. Swing over bed is 28.6 in (727 mm), maximum turning diameter is 25.2 in (640 mm), and maximum turning length is up to 91.3 in (2,320 mm). A 15 in hydraulic 3-jaw chuck is standard (up to 22 in optional), with 4.65 in bar capacity. The main spindle has an A2-11 nose, 5.2 in bore, a 35 hp motor, and a speed range of 25-2,500 rpm. The turret is offered as either an 8 or 12-station unit, indexing in 1 second. Construction is on Meehanite-cast base, saddle, and headstock with precision heavy-duty box ways and a rigid hydraulic tailstock. Power is 220V, three-phase, 60Hz.
