The Fuji CSD-400 is a parallel twin spindle horizontal turning center designed for high-productivity automated machining of complex parts. Featuring dual main spindles with independent 2,200 RPM capability and 25 HP each, the machine accommodates workpieces up to 11.8" diameter by 5.9" length with 10" capacity chuck workholding. The CSD-400 utilizes a 4-axis configuration with box way construction on both X and Z axes, providing robust rigidity for heavy cutting operations and superior surface finish. Each spindle is serviced by dual turrets—left and right tool carriers—each equipped with 12 turning and 12 rotary tool stations, enabling simultaneous dual-tool cutting for enhanced efficiency. X-axis travel spans 7.7" with rapid traverse to 1,181 ipm, while the Z-axis offers 12.4" travel at identical feed rates. The machine features a rapid turret index speed of 0.41 seconds, optimizing cycle times for complex part geometries. Fuji-engineered hydraulic clamping gantry robot loaders maintain tight tolerances during automated part loading and handling, reducing labor costs while increasing throughput. The compact 2,720 x 2,360 mm footprint incorporates conveniently located maintenance access with rear or optional side-positioned chip discharge conveyor, facilitating operator access for tool changes and preventive service.
