Technical Description

The GANESH CTL-618EVS is a precision manual toolroom lathe engineered for high-accuracy machining operations. This compact machine features an 11-inch swing over bed with an 18-inch distance between centers, providing versatile workpiece capacity for general and specialized toolroom applications. The lathe delivers infinitely variable spindle speeds ranging from 130 to 4,000 RPM, controlled via an electronic variable-speed inverter motor rated at 3 horsepower, enabling optimal cutting parameters across diverse materials and operations. The 6-inch swing over cross slide accommodates medium-sized components with precision control through a 6-inch cross slide travel and 3-inch compound slide travel. Threading capability includes both inch and metric options with a 36-pitch gearbox selectable without change gears, supporting threads from 11-108 TPI (inch) and 0.275-2.7mm (metric). The machine incorporates a MT#2 tailstock quill with 3.75-inch travel and inch/metric graduations for accurate positioning. A 5C collet spindle with spindle runout less than 80 millionths ensures exceptional accuracy, supported by ABEC class-7 (P4) angular contact ball bearings. Power feeds are available in both cross and longitudinal axes for consistent material removal rates. Additional features include a Newall digital readout system for dimensional accuracy, a tool post for quick tool changes, integrated work lighting, and an induction-hardened ground alloy steel bed for durability. At 1,700 pounds, this lathe balances portability with rigid construction suitable for precision job shops and tool and die operations.
