The GIDDINGS & LEWIS VTC VERTICAL BORING MILL is a heavy-duty machining center designed for high-capacity applications. It features an 84-inch table diameter and a maximum swing of 96 inches, accommodating large workpieces. The maximum height under the rail is 96 inches. The machine is powered by a robust 100 HP table drive motor, delivering infinitely variable table speeds ranging from 2 to 240 RPM. The milling capabilities are supported by a 25 HP spindle motor achieving 2,200 RPM. Precision movement is ensured by the 50-inch Z-axis ram stroke, with a substantial 10.5-inch by 10.5-inch ram size. Rapid traverse rates for the X and Z axes are 150 IPM. Crucially, the mill is engineered to handle massive components, boasting a table load capacity of 250,000 lbs. Operation is managed by a modern CNC system, specifically the Fanuc Oi-TD Control, ensuring precise and automated performance.
