Technical Description

The Haas ST-45L is a long-bed, large-through-bore CNC turning center in the Haas ST Series. It has a 35.5 in maximum part swing and cuts up to 30.0 in diameter with the standard 12-station bolt-on tool turret, or 27.5 in with the BMT75 turret. Maximum cutting length is 80.0 in, with 20.0 in of X-axis travel and 80.0 in of Z-axis travel. The A2-11 spindle has a 7.00 in bore, takes an 18 in chuck, and gives a 6.50 in bar capacity with the optional workholding. A 2-speed gearbox drives the spindle to 1,400 rpm with a 40 hp rating and 1,400 ft-lbf of torque at 150 rpm; an XP option raises output to 55 hp and 2,100 ft-lbf. Rapid traverse is 710 ipm in X and 320 ipm in Z, with 5,500 lbf and 9,000 lbf of maximum thrust. A programmable MT5 tailstock with 84.5 in of travel supports long shafts. The machine carries a 95 gallon coolant tank and runs on the Haas control. Shipping weight is 29,900 lb.
