Technical Description

The Hurco TM6i is a compact 2-axis CNC turning center built on a one-piece cast-iron base with a true 30-degree slant bed. Wide-spaced linear guideways support the cross slide. The A2-5 spindle reaches 6,000 rpm and carries a 170 mm (6 in) chuck, with a maximum bar capacity of 45 mm (1.75 in). Swing over the bed is 15.94 in and swing over the cross slide is 9.45 in. Maximum turning diameter is 12.44 in and maximum turning length is 13.39 in, with 15.85 in between centers. X and Z travels are 7 in and 14 in, and both axes rapid at 1,181 in/min. A bi-directional servo turret holds 12 tools in a slotted-disc arrangement, with 20 x 20 mm (0.75 in) shanks and boring bars up to 1.25 in diameter. The machine runs Hurco's WinMax control on a 19 in LCD touch-screen console, offering WinMax conversational programming and industry-standard NC (G-code) programming, concurrent programming, recovery restart, estimated run time, and verification graphics. It is the smallest model in Hurco's TM series of general-purpose slant-bed lathes, which also includes the TM8i, TM10i and TM12i.
