Technical Description

The Hurco TM8i is a 2-axis CNC slant-bed turning center built on a one-piece cast-iron base with a true 30-degree slant bed and widely spaced linear guideways supporting the cross slide. It swings 20.67 in over the bed and 11.8 in over the cross slide, with a maximum turning diameter of 14 in and maximum turning length of 20.67 in; distance between centers is 23.49 in. The A2-6 spindle carries an 8.2 in chuck, reaches 4,000 rpm and is rated 31.1 hp peak (25.5 hp 30-minute, 20.1 hp continuous), with bar capacity of 2.5 in. X-axis travel is 8 in and Z-axis travel 21.65 in, with rapid traverse of 1,181 ipm on both axes. A 12-station bi-directional servo turret takes 1 in square shanks and boring bars up to 1.5 in diameter. The machine runs Hurco's WinMax control, which offers conversational programming alongside industry-standard NC code, with features such as concurrent programming, recovery restart, estimated run time and verification graphics.
