Technical Description

The Hwacheon Hi-TECH 230AL YSMC is a box-way horizontal turning center in the 8 in chuck class, configured with a long bed, Y-axis, sub-spindle and live tooling. It swings 29.53 in over the bed and 21.26 in over the saddle, with a maximum cutting diameter of 15.75 in and a maximum cutting length of 22.99 in. The A2-6 main spindle has a 76 mm (2.99 in) through-hole, 2.56 in bar capacity and an 8 in chuck, and runs to 4,500 rpm on an 18.5/15 kW (25/20 hp) motor. The A2-5 sub-spindle carries a 6 in chuck, has a 62 mm through-hole and runs to 5,000 rpm on a 7.5/5.5 kW motor, with an 11/7.5 kW option; it travels 26.18 in on the B-axis. The turret has 12 stations with 24-position indexing, 0.344 s index time, and 5.5/3.7 kW live tools to 5,000 rpm with 0.0001 degree C-axis indexing. Strokes are 9.45 in X, 27.56 in Z and 4.72 in Y, with rapids of 1,181 ipm in X and Z, 394 ipm in Y and 945 ipm on the B-axis. The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 0i-TF. Floor space is 123.35 x 75.77 in, height is 82.83 in and weight is 6,800 kg (14,991 lb).
