Technical Description

The Hyundai WIA LM1800TTSY is a multitasking CNC turning center with two opposed spindles and two turrets. The right-hand sub-spindle lets the part be finished on both ends in one cycle. Both the main and sub-spindle are A2-6 built-in motor spindles rated 22 kW (29.5 hp) up to 5,000 rpm. Each has a 76 mm (2.99 in) bore and 65 mm bar capacity, and full C-axis indexing in 0.001-degree steps. The upper and lower turrets each hold 12 BMT-style live-tool stations, with 5,000 rpm driven tools. The upper turret has a wedge-type Y axis with 100 mm of travel for off-center milling, drilling and tapping. Swing over the carriage is 290 mm (11.4 in). Maximum turning diameter is 230 mm (9.1 in) and maximum turning length is 673 mm (26.5 in). The bed is a 45-degree slant cast-iron design, with box ways on the X and Y axes and linear roller guides on Z. The control is a Hyundai-WIA Fanuc 31i. Sister models in the LM1800TT line are the LM1800TTS and LM1800TTMS, which have no Y axis.
