Technical Description

The INDEX C200 is a high-performance CNC turning machine featuring a 6.3-inch (160 mm) chuck size and a bar capacity of 2.56 inches (65 mm), designed for precise and efficient machining. It supports a maximum spindle speed of 5,000 RPM, enabling fast production cycles, and is controlled by the INDEX C200-4D CNC system, based on Siemens 840D or optionally Fanuc 31i, providing advanced programming and control capabilities. The machine is equipped with two powerful, liquid-cooled motor spindles of identical design, allowing simultaneous machining with up to three turrets, enhancing productivity and flexibility for complex part manufacturing. Rapid traverse rates reach up to 60 m/min with accelerations up to 1g, supported by the INDEX SingleSlide guide system, which offers excellent rigidity and vibration damping. The working area is ergonomically designed for efficient part handling, supporting bar diameters up to 65 mm, and the spindle provides a turning diameter max of approximately 8.7 inches with a max turning length close to 9.9 inches. The C-axis resolution is highly precise at 0.00014 degrees, enabling intricate contouring and milling operations. Tool turrets accommodate up to 42 tools (VDI 20 standard) with high indexing speeds, and the machine supports 8 to 10 axes for multi-functional machining sequences. The C200 is suited for production turning of medium complexity parts from bar stock with excellent depth and breadth in machining capabilities, combining speed, precision, and automation readiness with i4.0 integration for modern manufacturing environments.
