Technical Description

The Index-Traub TNL32 is a CNC sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathe for productive turning of medium to highly complex workpieces, built around a main spindle and counter-spindle each with 32 mm (1.26 in) bar capacity/spindle clearance. Maximum spindle speed is 8,000 rpm on the main spindle (6,400 rpm on the counter-spindle). Maximum Z-axis travel on the standard-bed TNL32 is 12.01 in (305 mm); a TNL32-compact variant with a shorter 8.66 in (220 mm) Z-travel is also offered. The machine carries up to three tool carriers plus one rear-end machining unit, each with Y-axis, enabling simultaneous machining with up to three tools at independently variable feed rates. On the TNL32-9P configuration, main spindle power is 9.0/14.3 hp (6.7/10.7 kW, continuous/10-minute rating) and counter-spindle power is 5.0/7.4 hp (3.7/5.5 kW). C-axis indexing precision on both spindles is 0.001 degrees. The control system features a 15-inch multitouch display with Industry 4.0 connectivity. The TNL32 carries two spindles (main and counter-spindle) as standard.
