Technical Description

The J&M TN360D manual lathe features a robust design with a 14.17-inch (360 mm) swing over the bed and a 1.50-inch (38-40 mm) spindle bore, suited for versatile turning operations. It offers a swing over the cross slide of approximately 8.82 inches (224 mm), enabling machining of larger diameters on the cross slide. The lathe accommodates workpieces between centers up to 750 mm or optionally 1000 mm, supporting a range of lengths. Its spindle is equipped with a D1-4 or D1-5 spindle nose and offers 8 selectable spindle speed steps spanning roughly 70 to 2000 rpm, providing flexibility for various machining tasks. The cast iron bed is induction hardened and precision ground with a V-way design for enhanced rigidity and stability. The headstock contains hardened, precision ground gears, ensuring smooth power transmission and precise speed control. The tailstock features an MT5 taper for tool holding and a quill travel of around 100 mm, aiding in drilling or support. The lathe is powered by a 1.5 kW motor, balancing power and energy efficiency. Additional features include a quick-change tool post, standard 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, a faceplate, steady rest, and a halogen work lamp for improved illumination.
