A+Technical Description
The 2001 Kia VX500 is a 3-axis vertical machining center produced by Kia Machine Tools, the predecessor brand to Hyundai KIA and subsequently Hyundai WIA. The machine provides a 47.2" x 19.7" worktable with X/Y/Z travels of 41.7", 20.1", and 25.0", offering a capable machining envelope for mid-size mold, die, and general precision part work. The CAT40 spindle operates at 8,000 RPM as standard -- with a 10,000 RPM option available -- driven by a 20 HP continuous motor providing versatile cutting capability across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 24-tool side-mounted ATC supports multi-operation machining capability. The Fanuc 0i-M CNC control provides rigid tapping, macro programming, and a proven operator interface. Box guideway construction on all three axes delivers the rigidity and thermal stability required for consistent dimensional accuracy. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 120" x 83" x 111.5" with a machine weight of approximately 15,500 lbs. The KIA VX500 is the predecessor model to the Hyundai WIA VX500, sharing the same fundamental mechanical architecture and representing a well-proven platform in the North American VMC market.
