Technical Description

The 2019 Kitamura Mycenter-4XT is a 5-axis vertical machining center featuring an integrated trunnion-style rotary tilting table for full 5-axis simultaneous contouring. The machine is built on Kitamura's rigid fixed-column Meehanite cast iron structure, with X, Y, and Z linear travels of 31.5, 24, and 20.1 inches supporting the 15.7 inch (400 mm) diameter trunnion table. The A-axis tilts from -120 to +30 degrees and the C-axis rotates through a full 360 degrees, enabling complete 5-sided access to complex workpieces in a single setup. The CAT-40 or BT-40 spindle reaches 15,000 RPM with approximately 15 HP continuous power output, allowing high-speed finishing of aluminum, hardened steel, titanium, and non-ferrous alloys. The machine is controlled by the Kitamura Arumatik-Mi CNC, a Fanuc-based system providing full 5-axis interpolation, RTCP tilted workplane programming, look-ahead interpolation, and rigid tapping. Precision ball screws and roller guideways on all linear axes ensure accurate, repeatable motion across the full travel envelope. An automatic tool changer with 30 or more stations supports complex multi-operation 5-axis programs. The Mycenter-4XT weighs approximately 15,130 lbs with an overall footprint of approximately 120 by 87 by 119 inches high. It is well suited for aerospace impellers, medical implants, turbine blades, and complex mold cavities requiring 5-axis contouring.
