2001 MAZAK M5N CNC LATHES
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The Mazak M-5N is a heavy-duty flat-bed CNC turning center from Mazak's M series, aimed at large chuck work and long shafts. Its flat-bed construction and wide slideways give the rigidity needed for heavy cuts on large-diameter parts, and the machine accepts an optional big-bore spindle for pipe, tube and oilfield work. The machine has a single turning spindle driven by a 30 HP motor, with a swing over the bed of about 24 in. Tooling is carried on a combined arrangement of 14 positions: an 8-station turning turret plus 6 boring-bar stations. Beds were built in several lengths (for example 1500U and 2000U), so center distance and maximum turning length depend on the build, and spindle speed depends on whether the standard or big-bore spindle is fitted. Earlier units were controlled by MAZATROL T-32 series CNCs; machines from around 2000 carry the MAZATROL FUSION 640T, which offers conversational MAZATROL programming alongside EIA/ISO G-code. A programmable or manual tailstock and steady rests are common for shaft work. The M-5N is widely used for oilfield threading, large flanges, rolls, hydraulic cylinders and general heavy turning in job shops.
