Technical Description

The Mazak QUICK TURN 400 is a large 2-axis CNC turning center from Mazak's QUICK TURN series. This row is the 80 in (2000 mm) bed version, which gives a maximum machining length of 81.59 in (2,072 mm). Maximum swing is 33.26 in (845 mm) and maximum machining diameter is 22.83 in (580 mm). Bar work capacity is 4.0 in (102 mm). The main spindle carries a 12 in chuck, runs to 2,500 rpm and is rated 50 hp (37 kW) at its 30-minute rating. The upper turret holds 12 tools. Axis travels on the 80 in bed are 12.20 in X and 83.46 in Z. The same model is built on 40 in and 120 in beds, with machining lengths of 40.25 in and 122.91 in; swing, machining diameter, chuck size, spindle speed and motor rating stay the same across all three beds. A milling version, the QUICK TURN 400M, adds rotary tools. Its swing, machining diameter, 50 hp motor, 2,500 rpm top speed, 12 in chuck and 12-tool turret match the QUICK TURN NEXUS 400-II, and its axis travels are the same to within a fraction of an inch.
