Technical Description

The Mazak Quick Turn Nexus (QTN) 200-II is a slant-bed CNC turning center from Mazak's Nexus series. Maximum swing is 26.5 in (675 mm), maximum machining diameter is 14.75 in (380 mm), maximum bar capacity is 2.6 in (65 mm), and maximum machining length is 22.7 in (575 mm). The main spindle carries an 8 in chuck and reaches a maximum speed of 5,000 rpm, driven by a motor rated at 35 hp (26 kW, 30-minute rating). Axis travels are 9 in on X and 22.63 in on Z. The turret holds 12 tool stations, indexes to a maximum of 4,500 rpm for live tooling, and is driven by a 7.5 hp (6 kW, 10-minute rating) turret motor. The machine is equipped with Mazak's Matrix Nexus 2 CNC control, running Mazatrol conversational programming alongside standard EIA/ISO programming, with built-in monitoring and diagnostics. The QTN 200-II platform is also offered with a sub-spindle and Y-axis (MSY configuration) and other milling/Y-axis variants; the base two-axis machine documented here carries a single main spindle without sub-spindle or Y-axis.
