Technical Description
The Mazak QUICK TURN NEXUS 200-II MY is a second-generation QUICK TURN NEXUS CNC turning center with rotary tooling, C-axis and a Y-axis for off-center milling and drilling, built on the 500U (20 in) bed. It carries an 8 in chuck on an A2-6 spindle nose, with a 76 mm (2.99 in) spindle bore and a 65 mm (2.5 in) bar work capacity. The integral main spindle motor is rated 26 kW (35 hp) for 30 minutes and 22 kW (30 hp) continuous, with a stepless range up to 5,000 rpm. Maximum swing is 675 mm (26.57 in), maximum machining diameter is 380 mm (14.96 in) and maximum machining length is 538 mm (21.18 in). A 12-position VDI-type drum turret holds 12 tools; the rotary tool spindle runs to 4,500 rpm on a 5.5 kW (7.5 hp) motor and handles 20 mm drills and end mills and M20 taps. Travels are 230 mm in X, 100 mm (plus or minus 50 mm) in Y and 575 mm in Z, with rapid traverse of 30 m/min in X, 21 m/min in Y and 33 m/min in Z. A 550 mm stroke tailstock with an MT5 dead center is standard. The machine needs 41.6 kVA, occupies 2,800 x 1,865 mm of floor space at 1,860 mm high, and weighs 5,100 kg (11,243 lb).
